Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Manuscripts should not exceed 10,000 words, not counting title and abstract; exceptions to this threshold might be accepted depending on the topic dealt with.
    Please make sure:
    • to state on the front page authors’ affiliations and full postage address of the main affiliation;
    • to indicate corresponding author’s e-mail address;
    • to anonymize the manuscript (except for the front page) by eliminating any element that might enable referees to identify the authors.
  • Manuscripts should normally be written in English, using either American or British spelling consistently. Manuscripts in Italian may also be considered when the topic is of particular interest to an Italian-speaking readership. Authors whose first language is not English should ensure that the manuscript is carefully edited, preferably by a native speaker.
    The submission of an article implies that it has not been previously published and that it is not under assessment to be published by another journal.
  • The digital copy of the paper should be submitted preferably in Microsoft Word format (*.doc/*.docx). The text should be in single-column format and the layout should be as simple as possible.
    Tables and figures should be submitted in Microsoft Word format as well, but in extra files.
    Manuscripts can be submitted also in LaTeX. The submission should include the original source (including all style files and figures) and a PDF version of the compiled output.
  • The text must adhere to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The author declares that she/he has read and accepted the journal's Guidelines (PEMS) about publishing ethics (https://www.rivisteweb.it/publisherEthics).
  • The manuscript must be the result of the author’s own intellectual work. The use of generative artificial intelligence or AI-assisted tools is permitted only for ancillary purposes and must not replace the author’s scholarly contribution. Any use beyond basic spelling, grammar, formatting, or reference checking must be disclosed at submission, specifying the tool used and the purpose of its use. The author remains fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and legal compliance of the submitted work. AI tools may not be listed as authors.
  • The author declares that she/he has obtained the necessary written authorizations to reproduce any illustrations and photographs accompanying the article and that they have delivered a copy to the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal.
