Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

• The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
• Manuscripts should preferably be written in English (American or British usage is accepted, but not a mixture of both). Authors whose native language is not English should ensure that the manuscript is carefully edited, preferably by a native speaker.
  Articles written in Italian may be taken into consideration if the topic is of particular interest to the Italian-speaking readership. Articles written in Italian must have both an Italian and an English title; however, their abstract and keywords must be written only in English.
  
• The submission of an article consists of several separate files, all in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word format:
  
  1. The "Title Page" including: article title, authors’ names and affiliations and ORCID, full postage address of all authors, indication of the corresponding author with her/his full mailing address, abstract (max 100 words), keywords in English (max 3), JEL codes (max 3), acknowledgements (if any);
  
  2. The "Article Text" including a blinded copy of the manuscript without any element that might enable referees to identify the authors and without acknowledgments. The Article Text file must include: article title, abstract (max 100 words), keywords in English (max 3), JEL codes (max 3), and the text of the manuscript. Figures and tables are preferably placed within the blinded article text at the appropriate positions. Alternatively, they can be grouped into ad hoc "Figures" and "Tables" files that can be uploaded separately.
• Submitted articles should preferably be in the region of 8,000/8,500 words not counting the front page, but including references, footnotes, tables and figures. Longer articles may be taken into consideration provided their length does not exceed 10,000 words. Each figure or table not covering a full page amounts to 250 words. Each figure or table covering a full page amounts to 400 words. The abstract should not exceed 100 words. Appendixes can be published online only or also in the printed version of the Journal. In case the author wishes to publish an Appendix only online, such Appendix will not enter the word count described above. Instead, if the author wishes to publish the Appendix also in print, such Appendix will enter the word count described above.
• Tables and Figures inserted in the Open Office/MS Word version of the manuscript must be completely editable.
  
• The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
